so,,i just met and had a chit chat with this guy who my mentor introduced this afternoon. He works in pricing department in a big insurance company. It was a great talk,and I did learn alot from him. One big thing that I learn was I think his job is boring and I dont want to work in insurance company. I am an actuarial science major and I have been uncertain whether to take joint major with finance or concentration in insurance. Now,,thanks to him, I’m sure to take joint major with finance and pursue a career as actuary in a consulting firm.
THE PROBLEM IS… what should i say to him in my thank you note??

I had to rent a car because my car is being repaired for hail damage. My insurance company is paying for rental but I would be responsible for insurance.

I have full coverage but don’t want to possibly file two claims in 2 weeks. We are forecated to have rain and thunderstorms tomarrow but I don’t know if it’s bad enough to maybe hail.

I have been chatting to this guy who seems absolutely lovely. He is wealthy, in finance, owns an art gallery, in involved in a lot of children’s charity work and has proved all of this to me.

He lives in the US and I live in England. He has offered to pay for me to go for a weekend to meet him in New York and has said I’d have my own hotel room and we’d go see aplay on broadway. After a lot of declining and hesitation I eventually said that I’d go and he bought me a ticket.

I had previously asked him why we couldn’t meet in London and he never mentioned it.

He is quite a bit older than me too. 15 years…

I’m really interested in meeting him and he sounds lovely but after speaking to one of my friends who has been very blunt with me I am worried that I’m doing something silly.

I know his address, the name of his art gallery, the children’s charity he works for…

He had not been rude or crude in any way. He has already bought the tickets…

I have looked him up, he is very wealthy and has proved to be who he says he is….
Do you need a Visa to go to America on a European passport? I do have his tel. number… It just all seems too good to be true…

On his profile on the site he said he wanted to stay away from married women and was not married. He has written a book and it the about the author bit it says he lives in …. It doesn’t say with his wife or kids and he never mentions kids or wife in book which is a sort of biography…
He works hard and seems as though he has ‘cleared’ a weekend for me since he wanted me to go in Aug and I will be away! I will ask him why he can’t come here!

I have known this girl for approx. six months, and she is an accounting auditor. She came to my company auditing for two weeks. One of the finance ladies in the company kept on advertising me to her. Two finance ladies, her and I went to lunch together one day. It was so messed up because we ate for 30 mins, and the two finance ladies tried to play the leave early and leave us both alone trick. I had a chance to ask for her phone number in the club, but I missed it. We only chat online and via email. I’m trying to be friends with her and get to know her more. I don’t want her to think that I want to date her or etc. I know she is currently single.

I have been friends with this person for a while, and oddly i still feel like i don’t know them that well. In general, he very cold and distant and don’t offer much details about himself. He is very hard to read as far as ****** expression and tone of voice goes. He is kind of impassive and monotone…but he still seems to function in society as a new college grad. he goes out on the weekend drinking, and he has a really good finance job. I sometimes think that maybe he just dislikes me, but everytime i talk to him he is responsive and chats with me for a while (he doesn’t blow me off or say he’s too busy) I tell him a lot about myself, but I really would love to know about HIM. Once i got frustrated with him and said that he is only an acquaintance, and i said it because i feel like i hardly know him. I think he was offended by that comment, even though i did not mean it to hurt him. It was probably illadvised but i really feellike he is more like an acquaintance rather than a friend because he is so distant and doesn’t provide much information. Is he afraid of intimacy? How do i go about getting him to warm to me? I know there is a great person beneath the surface, i just can’t seem to reach it.
